All dogs and cats must be fully vaccinated to help prevent a number of infectious diseases by boosting their immune system.

- Initial vaccinations are usually given to kittens and puppies at about 6-8 weeks of age and given a second booster shot at 12 weeks of age (about 2 weeks after the first one). Vaccinations must then be given annually thereafter, please make sure you do not exceed 13 months since the last vaccination. If the cat misses its annual booster shot, it needs to go for a full primary course of vaccinations to restore full protection.

- Ensure that your pet is healthy when vaccination is due, delay vaccines if illness, stress or major surgery is occurring (speak to your vet if you are not sure).

- Vaccinations against rabies are usually given at 6 months of age and repeated once every three years.
