One year on, still a lot of work to do.

One year has passed since the terrible tragedy of March 11th 2011 when an earthquake followed by a tsunami devastated huge areas of northeast Japan, destroying the lives of thousands of people and animals. It was a tragedy that affected all of us in some way. Here at ARK, when we are greeted by the earthquake dogs now safe and happy, we are reminded that the work to look after them must go on.

Protest: please help us close down this breeder. Why is a man who has a criminal record for the maltreatment of animals and who has contravened the Japanese Rabies law still able to carry on his cruel practices and to continue breeding and selling dogs? Please watch the video then contact the people who can do something about it read more...

TOHOKU-PACIFIC QUAKE ANIMALS

ARK is still taking in animals made homeless from the TOHOKU-PACIFIC earthquake and tsunami as local refuges buckle under the strain. We expect the numbers to increase over the coming months. As this tragedy enters a new phase, your donations are still urgently needed.
